I do enjoy raw vegetables. Yes, simply plain even. It’s been awhile since I’ve had any around to munch on, but now tis the season (just about, anyway). Peppers, yellow and red and green, tomatoes, carrots, celery, too. I’m usually not a big fan of celery, but even now and then I sort of go with it. Celery with peanut butter, or apple slices with peanut butter have been a yummy snack lately. When we can find some good pears, that will be next. Nibbling on raw mushrooms as I’m chopping them up for cooking… We’ve got some green grapes out now, too. I’ve always loved green grapes, but I also believe they hold pesticide residues fairly highly, so I’ve almost stopped eating them, or at least buying them for myself. I did indulge this weekend, and they’re still pretty darn yummy to me. I once knew someone who would eat raw garlic sandwiches. Back in the crazy days of college. I can say I’ve nibbled on a raw clove part or two, but I don’t think I’d quite go that far… 😉
Still, it just plain good to be eating some raw fruits and vege’s again. And summer is almost here, so it’s just the time for that!
